This is a genuine Georgian 18ct Yellow Gold mourning ring with original box.


On the front of the ring is a fabulous Enamel urn with intricate Gold details. 


The face of this stunning ring actually spins 360 degrees to reveal a hidden locket of plaited hair.


Mourning jewellery mirrored the lives and times of the people who wore it. 


It was a souvenir to remember a loved one, a reminder to the living of the inevitability of death, a status symbol, especially during the Victorian Era. 


The jewellery consists of formulaic rings made of Gold and Black Enamel and decorated with standard Memento Mori such as skulls and coffins.


The 18ct Gold shank has turned a rosy colour with age and has a beautiful smooth finish.


The glass window has a lovely Gold rope edge however it does display a crack, but this can easily be replaced if preferred. 


Complete with the original old box, which is a Leather exterior in dark emerald green with cream Velvet interior.


Mourning jewellery is sought after worldwide and highly collectable.

Looks fabulous when worn, a real talking piece.
