Details

A delightful antique Edwardian carved half hoop ring made in Chester in 1901. It’s set with a trilogy of mesmerising opal cabochons (approx. 0.42ct total) complemented by four twinkling old mine cut diamonds nestled in between (approx. 0.12ct total).

Opal is the birthstone of October. Their magic has been revered throughout history, desired for their enchanting rainbow of colours that flow and dance across the surface of the stone, evoking the beauty of planet earth or the aurora borealis, with a burning orange sunset glowing behind.

The gallery is modelled in 18ct gold with beautiful, scrolled engraving down each shoulder and hallmarks within the band alongside an inscription from a previous owner that reads: “J.A. to C.B. - 1905”.

It was clearly a beloved piece, a wonderful symbol of eternal love that has remained in excellent condition across the centuries.
